John Landis
The
National Lampoon's Animal House cast features some of the most recognizable
actors of our time and was directed by John
Landis. Shot in only 35 days, Animal House captures 60's college
life in all of it's craziness and also helped launch the careers
of actors such as John Belushi (Animal House's Bluto), Stephen Furst
(Animal House's Flounder) , Tom Hulce, Karen Allen, Kevin Bacon,
Tim Matheson, Donald Sutherland and Peter Reigert. Directed by John
Landis, Animal House went on to become National Lampoon’s
first hit comedy and one of the funniest movies in American film
history.
The superb casting of Animal House not only shows in the memorable
performances. The story centers around the rivalry between two fraternities;
the snobby Omegas and the Party-till-you-drop Deltas, Led by John
Belushi's character Bluto Blutarski. Off screen friction arose between
the casts' fraternities which may have added extra spark to some
of Animal House's many memorable scenes.
